TOURISM MAP OF ODISHA
Bargarh district occupies a unique place on the tourism map of Odisha for its lush green forests, magnificent hills, wildlife, scenic waterfalls, ancient monuments, and handlooms. The famous Chinese traveler Hiuen Tsang visited this place in the 7th century and mentioned the renowned Buddhist University 'Po-Lo-Mo-Lo-Ki-Li' (Parimalagiri) located on the Gandhamardan hills.
Barpali
Famous as the birthplace of the legendary poet Swabhaba Kabi Gangadhar Meher. It is also renowned for Sambalpuri handloom and weaving art. Many skilled weavers here keep the traditional craft alive.

The Jagannath temple here is known as "Adwitiya Dwitiya", where only Lord Jagannath (Dadhibaman) is worshipped without Balabhadra and Subhadra. Devotees flock here to witness the Lord on the Ratna Vedi.
